The following comes from Rich Phelan of Sacramento, California.  Rich writes "Hi Mike, its Rich Phelan from Sacramento, Ca AKA Richsound..... Here is the pics of my 72 Wagon that I promised . Basically this is a pictorial from start to the sad ending. I bought this car last year after I noticed it parked alongside the freeway. I gave $400 and I think I may have over paid a little . This car was ragged. The 302 barely ran and the suspension and brakes were unsafe.I blew a head gasket and had a flat on the way home. But it was a 72 and it had a hood scoop. I think that's what did me in . LOL!! My intention was to turn this wreck into the new family hauler. I immediately purchased a used 5.0 motor and set about trying too put a new face on the motor. Well it gave me nothing but problems.I abandoned the 5.0 and decided to put a rebuilt 460 in her basically my old motor from the 72 Fastback. Well that was loads of fun . After I got the motor and C6 in the Wagon I realized the suspension was even worse off with the added weight of the big block so I ended replacing the front coils ,shocks and tie rods.I also added some air springs for the back and new heavy duty shocks, I was holding off on the brakes until I got the suspension sorted. Well now I had a running car that drove pretty good with exception of the brakes..... Hmmm. so I started to drive her .I had a little problem with the motor making some strange noises . I decided to take no chances and pulled the motor. There was a minor problem in the bottom end which we corrected, and I was back on the road. The next week them brakes caught up with me I was accelerating into traffic and did not notice that the truck ahead of me was stopped no brake lights where visible and the 5000 lb wagon refused to even slow before slamming into the truck . As you can see the damage is too severe too make repairing feasible option. So I pulled the motor again and now it resides back where it was to begin with in my 72 Torino Fastback. That motor has been in and out about 5 times as far as I can recollect. Eventually I will have another 72 Wagon . I loved the versatility it was like a truck in a way but I could drive my kids in it too. And with a 460 it moved pretty swift to. Next time I am going do the brakes First!!!! Hope these pics aren't too nasty or too many. I put allot of blood sweat and tears in that beater it would be nice if you can post this as a memorial .LMAO.... no seriously.

Thanks Rich"
