a lot of these files are large so they can retain readability, so they may take some time, but they are well worth it!!!

I pulled this one from the July 2000 issue of Musclecar Review.  It is called the "TOP 10 Musclecars of all time" and it rated the 1970 Torino Cobra at 9th.      Mike

This photo was sent to me by Dave Pichlyk.  Check out the hood.  The split of the black down the middle goes all the way back to the back edge of the hood.  Ford never made a hood like this!  A pre-production photo?  Who knows....

From George Frew "Found the news Flash sent to all dealers in 69 telling about the addition of my Torino to the 70 line up. Thought you might want to add it to the site. George" Thanks George , great stuff!!!

"Mike: I think this is from Super Stock Illustrated magazine in late 1970, but I can't say for certain. I bought these pages only at a swap meet a long, long time ago.

I also included close ups of the front 3/4 shot of the car and under the hood for those looking for documentation/detailing purposes.

Look closely at the engine compartment photo: this '71 has the '70 style Autolite sticker on the passenger side cowl (larger, almost square, rather than the thin, rectangle used for most '71's) indicating it was made very early in the model year."

"Note, the '71 Cobras did not have the hood twist locks and were available with laser stripes for the first time.

This particular car came with General white letter tires instead of Goodyear or Firestone.

Note the buck tag just above and to the right of the power brake booster.

The square item on the passenger side shock tower is the power window relay and if you look really, really closely at the back of the Autolite battery just below that, just behind the vent caps, you can see the top edge of the now very hard to find plastic battery shield.

As you can see, the shaker gaskets drooped from the heat even when new, and there's no question this shaker assembly used the large, slightly oval wing nuts to hold it in place, not the nut with star washer that some claim are correct."

I like the part about Ford not giving into the "clean air craze" - Mike

Anyhow, enjoy and put this to good use as always.   Bill"

As always, our special thanks to Bill Brady, FCA Technical Advisor and frequent contributor to our site!

I recently picked up a 1970 Ford Almanac for my Torino goodies collection! Here is an advertisement for the 1970 Ford Torino that I thought I would share! (3 pages). Have a great summer,   Tim Zagata
